Birthday!!

25 February 2010

Happy (Belated) Birthday to my blog! Just a little over one years
old, with 170 posts total and counting. It's just so exciting to me
that I have kept it up for this long, so I just had to make an
entry about it. I cannot say how much I love you all, and cannot say
thank you enough for keeping up with my blog! It started out as
just something I did just for fun, but it has really turned into
something almost therapeutic and the perfect release for
sharing my creativity and getting inspired by all of yours.
So here is to one year of blogging, I can't wait to keep it up!
Below is a little re-cap in chronological order of outfits from each
month since last January.

Also.... just as of two days ago I decided to join tumblr.
I am quite new to it all, so if you have one, I would love if you
could follow me and I will of course reciprocate the love!
See my tumblr here.

First Bit of Warmth

First of all: Isn't this the most beautiful cat you have
ever seen?! His name is Mark, and he happens
to be extremely photogenic and I happened to catch him
at the perfect moment today, hehe.

Onto more fashion-related issues....
as of the past few months, I have been all about thrifting.
Almost all of the items shown here are vintage or secondhand,
which has been a recent trend in all of my outfits.
It's seriously come to the point that I question buying
anything new, and am completely turned off by having something
that is made by the millions and is available in thousands
of stores across one hundred countries. The challenge of scouring
up and down the racks of thrift stores/goodwill/the salvation army
has become a fulfilling and reasonably cheap hobby that I definitely
get my fix of doing every few weeks or so. This being said, except
new items to be up in the shop that I just scored, after they are hemmed.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, and a great start to
your week!

Wonderland

Oh, Karl.

John Paul Gautier as the Cheshire Cat

I have always been fascinated by this editorial done in the Summer
of 2008 by Vogue. In honor of the quickly approaching
opening weekend of Alice in Wonderland, I leave you with this
whimsical masterpiece. You could also use a cash advance
to buy the equipment and clothing to make a great
photoshoot like Wonderland.

Wow... a pleated skirt, florals, and extravagantly embellished bag.
It's obvious that I was in the girly mood today, but what else is
new? I'm missing London town so very much, so I decided to
put on this Alexa Chung-inspired outfit to remind me of the place
I love most! Speaking of which, it's time for me to find my summer
internship, and I am at a complete loss as to where I want to go.
I've got it narrowed down to New York or London, but there is still
such a decision to be made about these two! I'll keep you all
updated on where my life is taking me, as I undergo the stresses
of slowly entering "the real world", hehe. Should be quite the adventure.

Lovely vintage

Vintage, Vintage, Vintage! I just discovered this gorgeous girl's shop,
Liebmarlene Vintage. Her style is just so adorable, and I have a
feeling that raiding her closet would be nothing less than spectacular.
The best part is... that her closet is up for sale!

Rest In Peace.
